La Flor Dominicana cigars were introduced to the market in 1994, well into the cigar boom. They are known as some of the most powerful smokes in the business, particularly the Ligero and Double Ligero series. The company has since released countless different lines, which… – More vary in strength and wrapper shade and are available in several unique shapes.
The mildest of La Flor Dominicana`s offerings is the Premium series, which features a Connecticut Shade or Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, as well as all Dominican binder and filler. They are mild-to-medium bodied in strength and feature notes of pepper and coffee, with a spicy chocolate note accompanying the Maduro wrapper.
Further up the scale is the Air Bender series, which has received favourable reviews from several cigar websites and magazines. It features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and all Dominican binder and filler from La Flor Dominicana`s farm. These smokes are slightly spicier with strong notes of pepper and oak, like a fine bourbon.
Stronger still in La Flor Dominicana`s cigar lineup is the Double Ligero series. As the name would suggest, these cigars contain a hefty dose of Ligero tobacco from the company`s farm. The wrapper is sun grown in Ecuador, and provides a good amount of spice which is balanced by rich caramel sweetness. All La Flor Dominicana cigars have their own distinct character, as the tobacco they use is grown on their own farm in La Canela in the Dominican Republic. They all boast meticulous construction and a noticeably perfect burn.
