Villiger is a company with a unique history, especially in the cigar market. While many brands chose to begin their business in places such as Cuba or the Dominican Republic, Jean Villiger opened his first factory in Switzerland in 1888. In 1902, Jean passed, and the business was run by his wife, Louise.
Through the years, the company has been owned and run by members of the Villiger family, now residing in the steady hands of Heinrich Villiger. Four factories – one in Switzerland and Indonesia, and two in Germany – are responsible for the 1.5 billion units manufactured each year.
Villiger cigars are praised for their ingredients, including the use of Cuban and Dominican leaf. Despite being machine-made cigars, the use of high-quality tobacco ensures that each smoke has outstanding quality while keeping costs down.
