Touted as being “one of the finest cigars made in the 20th century” the Trinidad Fundadores or (Founders) cigar was originally launched in February 1998 but its origin lies shrouded in the history of the El Laguito factory where it was originally produced in limited quantities as a diplomatic gift for virtually two decades before being made commercially available.
On Monday 10th November 2003 the Hilton Hotel, London, was chosen as the venue for the launch of 3 new sizes of Trinidad cigar- a Robusto Extra, Coloniales and Reyes. These rich and complex cigars, whilst still comparatively young will undoubtedly develop into Cuba’s second premium brand after Cohiba.
We are now fortunate enough to receive stock of the new Trinidad ” Vigia “. A Short Robusto with an impressive 54 ring gauge presented in familiar boxes of just 12 cigars with the characteristic “piggy tail” twist of tobacco enclosing the cap. With the Robusto Extra now discontinued here in the U.K. this new cigar will be a welcome addition to the remaining range which is scheduled to be gradually revised in the future
