MONTECRISTO 80TH ANIVERSARIO SPECIAL RELEASE COMING SOON: Box of 20s

MONTECRISTO 80TH ANIVERSARIO SPECIAL RELEASE COMING SOON: Box of 20s

London England, June 10th.

The Montecristo 80 Aniversario vitola is unique (55 ring gauge x 165 mm in length) and its blend, which has a special strength, has been created for smokers who enjoy intense flavours.

This commemorative edition, comprising 30,000 units, is presented in an exclusive, uniquely designed box of 20 Habanos, each bearing bands with a gold finish especially for this occasion.

Montecristo 80 Aniversario is a unique vitola , specially selected by Habanos s.a. to commemorate the establishment of this legendary brand in 1935. The 20 Habanos in this exclusive edition have been made Totalmente a Mano con Tripa Larga -Totally Handmade with Long Filler-, after selecting the exquisite capa , tripa and capote -wrapper, filler, and binder- leaves from the best plantations in Vuelta Abajo * (Pinar del Río*). The vitola and blend, which have a special strength, have been created for smokers who enjoy intense flavours.

The Montecristo 80 Aniversario has special dimensions that cannot be found in any other standard Habanos vitola. It will particularly appeal to smokers who enjoy thick ring gauge Habanos and an exquisite blend that is balanced, and intense at the same time.

This commemorative edition is presented in an exclusive, uniquely designed box made from the finest Cuban wood and elegantly finished with carmelite lacquer, with all its bevelled edges showing. The box cover stands out due to the round Montecristo seal in vivid gold tones, inspired by the design of the brand’s band.

The Habanos in this edition are also presented in an exclusive and novel fashion. The brand’s band is entirely finished in gold for the occasion and is accompanied by a second band bearing the reason for the edition: 80 Aniversario.

Montecristo is the best known and, perhaps, best appreciated of the Habanos brands and is considered by many to be the benchmark in Habano flavour. Its name is inspired by the novel The Count of Montecristo, by Alexandre Dumas, extremely popular among the torcedores -cigar rollers- at the H. Upmann factory in Havana, where the brand was established in 1935.

XVIII Habanos Festival Releases

XVIII Habanos Festival Releases

London England, March 10th.

With the 18th Habanos Festival over, it's time to look at what was showcased and released this year. It was a big year for Habanos S.A., and with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Cohiba, we should have known that big and expensive things were expected. Let's take a look at the releases.

Regular Production:

Cohiba Medio Siglo: A new petit robusto for the Cohiba brand, the Medio Siglo falls under the Linea 1492 line, and is a 102 mm (4") by 52 ring gauge release. It is available in the standard 25 count boxes, and is also available in tubes, 3 count cardboard boxes. The price has not been released, but I imagine it will be fairly affordable when looking at Cohiba offerings. It is a 2016 release, but who knows when these will hit the market. This is actually the new Cohiba release that I am really interested in.

Edición Limitada 2016:

Trinidad Topes Edición Limitada 2016 (2016): The Trinidad brand is back and bigger than the 2014 Vigia. The Topes will measure 125 mm (4.9") with a 56 ring gauge, and will be a new robusto vitola titled Topes. Like most Trinidad releases, it will come in 12 count boxes and this is going to be a thick robusto. I am interested to see how the Topes smokes as I have loved what they have done for the brand with the Vigia, but you never know with a limitada. If they give it a super dark wrapper, it will need a lot of age and might throw the brand's profile off as well.

Romeo y Julieta Capuletos Edición Limitada (2016): Since 2012, the RyJ brand has been getting a lot of attention, and for 2016 the brand is back with a limited edition. The last limitada release for Romeo y Julieta was in 2013, but they have had some exciting releases much bigger than that. The Capuletos will come in 25 count boxes and will be a larger releases overall. It is a robusto extra titled Sobresalientes, and it will measure 153 mm (6") with a 53 ring gauge. The RyJ brand overall does not do well for me, and with this being a limitada that comes in 25 count boxes, it will not be a priority.

Montecristo Dantés Edición Limitada (2016): Probably the most exciting limited edition release this year, the Montecristo brand is a brand that always delivers with its limited releases. The Dantés is the smallest of new releases in terms of ring gauge, and is a Grand Corona that measures 167 mm (6.6") wih a 48 ring gauge. It is classified as a Hermosos No. 1, and will come in ten count boxes. Prices has not been announced, neither has the production number, and that is not surprising. This is the limited release that I will gravitate towards, without a doubt.

Reserva Cosecha 2012:

Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2 Reserva Cosecha 2012: It has been two years since the last Reserva release, and for this year we are honoring the Hoyo de Monterrey brand for the first time. The release will be your Epicure No. 2 vitola, 124 mm (4.9) with a 50 ring gauge vitola, but will be composed of tobacco from the 2012 harvest. The Habanos will be packaged in 20 count boxes, and only 5,000 are being made. As with past releases, they will be numbered, and I am expecting a balanced, creamy and delightful Epicure No. 2 release. How will it stalk to other Epicure No. 2s,

Commemorative Releases:

Cuaba 20 Aniversario: It's been 20 year since Cuaba was launched and to honor that 20th anniversary, Habanos S.A. released a 50 count humidor for the brand in a new vitola offering. It is a double perfecto, as to be expected, and measures 170 mm (6.7") with a 56 ring gauge at the bell. I don't know what else to say, its a Cuaba.

Cohiba Majestuoso 1966: Celebrating the Cohiba brand's 50th anniversary, Habanos S.A. had two releases.

The Humidor Cohiba 1966 is one of two special editions to commemorate the Cohiba brand’s fiftieth anniversary, as indicated in the filleted band habanos from this edition have been decked out with

The Cohiba Majestuoso 1966 vitola –unseen in Habano’s vitola stock- is the deluxe dweller of the Humidor Cohiba 1966, Special Commemorative Edition, an exclusive box featuring a one-and-only design and containing 20 habanos.

“Cohiba Majestuoso 1966” (ring gauge 58 x 150 mm long) is a commemorative edition with barely 1,966 units rolled, specially designed by Habanos S.A. to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the brand.

Its strong-tasting blend is intended to Cohiba aficionados who love intense flavors.

The Cohiba Majestuoso 1966 vitola has special sizes unseen in any other Cohiba product nor in Habano’s standard vitola portfolio. It’s a very special product for both enthusiasts of the Cohiba brand and the overall habano buff, thanks to its new format, thick ring gauge, exquisite blend and strong taste, designed for those smokers who love complex and intense tastes.

This commemorative edition is presented in an exclusively-designed and limited-edition humidor, featuring elegant simplicity and a subtle layout of vintage-style curves that pay tribute to the launch of the brand back in the 1960s.

Right of top of the shiny black-lacquered lid of this humidor-case, the Cohiba 50 Aniversario seal stands out, to be stamped on the brand’s different initiatives in the course of this year 2016. The inner side of the lid has a small plaque tacked on it to indicate the box number within this exclusive output of 1,966 pieces the series is made up of.

Habanos in this edition also boast new and exclusive presentations. In addition to the brand’s band, these habanos feature a commemorative filleted band in black and gilt, showing the 50 Aniversario seal and the dates spanning from the foundational year to date.

50 years of Cohiba at the XVIII Habanos Festival, Cuba

50 years of Cohiba at the XVIII Habanos Festival, Cuba

London England, March 1st.

This is a special edition commemorating the 50th anniversary of Cohiba. A unique and unrepeatable series of just 50 humidors with 50 Habanos each, all individually numbered. The vitola Cohiba 50 Aniversario (60 ring gauge x 178 mm length) is the first in the Habanos portfolio with a 60 ring gauge (23.80 mm).

This edition is presented in an exclusive luxury cabinet, lined in authentic Cuban tobacco leaves covered in 24-carat gold, and is numbered and personalised with the owner's name.

The 2500 Habanos in this edition have been made with the flavours that have been most characteristic of the brand over its five decades of existence, featuring a medium to full strength flavour.

They have all been made Totalmente a Mano con Tripa Larga -Totally by Hand with Long Filler -in the near-mythical El Laguito factory in Havana, after a selection of exquisite wrapper, filler and binder leaves from the finest vegas - fields - in Vuelta Abajo* (D.O.P.)

The Cohiba 50 Aniversario humidor is full of new ideas and fine detailing. The Habanos it contains have had a beautiful primary band designed in black and gold with the 50th anniversary seal, in which some characteristic elements from Cohiba, such as the grid, have been reinterpreted in an innovative way.

This commemorative edition is presented in an exclusive luxury cabinet humidor, with production limited to only 50 units. The case is made of different precious woods, including Makassar ebony, sycamore and Guarea Cedrata or Scented Guarea. The innovative external marquetry decorating its doors is the result of a long process of experimentation, in which carefully selected authentic "ligero" Vuelta Abajo* leaves were coated with 24-carat gold leaf.

The piece is a work of art and a unique collector's item, and has been a real challenge in terms of innovation both from the point of view of artisan decoration as well as technical development and design.

The humidor has been made by the firm Elie Bleu. Each humidor will be numbered (01 to 50) and personalised with the owner's name, and each buyer will also receive a certificate of ownership and authenticity issued by Habanos S.A.

In addition, following the innovative profile of the Cohiba brand and this project, this cabinet features a device that allows its owner to follow the temperature and humidity conditions in the humidor directly on their smartphone or tablet.

Cohiba 50 Aniversario Humidors on auction

The cabinet humidor numbered 01 was auctioned at the traditional humidor auction concluding the XVIII Habanos Festival Gala Evening, with which has managed to raise 320,000 euros (£246,400). The remaining 49 humidors will be auctioned by exclusive Habanos distributors around the world at an auction to be held in Havana in June at which Cohiba 50 Aniversario has a good chance of reaching the highest price ever attained by a Premium cigar.

Davidoff Bringing Two New Winston Churchills

Davidoff Bringing Two New Winston Churchills

London England, February 10th.

As expected, Davidoff's revamped Winston Churchill line will be getting two new vitolas

In many ways, the new Davidoff Winston Churchill Belicoso (4 1/2 x 46) and Petit Panetela (4 x 38) fill the void left behind by the company's makeover of the line earlier this year. The old Winston Churchill had the Lancaster (4 1/2 x 46) and Spitfire (4 x 38), two smaller vitolas sold in tins.

While the cigars carry the Davidoff Winston Churchill branding and are part of the line, the blends appear to be different on paper. The smaller sizes use an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, Peruvian pelo de oro viso binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The other four larger sizes in the line use an Ecuadorian Rojiza wrapper and Mexican San Andrés binder.

The cigars fill out the "six faces" of Sir Winston Churchill Davidoff presented last year.

New 2016 EMS Stamp

New 2016 EMS Stamp

London England, January 4th.
Hunters & Frankau have issued the new English Market Selection (EMS) badge for 2016.

The EMS description has been used by Cuba for over a century, with many people contending that it originally reflected the reputation of the English market for accepting only the very finest cigars that Cuba had to offer. Others maintain it was used to distinguish cigars destined for England from those bound for the USA. At the time the English preference was for dark cigars while the American Market Selection (AMS) reflected a propensity for specially treated light green cigars (Candelas).

Either way, the EMS stamp, in its current form, was launched by Hunters & Frankau in 1993 as a way of marking out boxes that have passed the UK quality inspection and of assuring customers of the cigars quality and authenticity.

All boxes that carry this mark are guaranteed to have:

- EMS-2016-(Clear-Background)

- Come directly from Habanos S.A. in Cuba to Hunters & Frankau.

- Been shipped and stored by experts.

- Passed a UK quality check.

- Paid all UK Duties.

- The correct UK health warnings

Bolivar 'BELGRAVIA' 2015 UK Habanos Regional Edition

Bolivar 'BELGRAVIA' 2015 UK Habanos Regional Edition

London England, November 10th. Hunters & Frankau launched the latest UK Regional Edition, the Bolivar Belgravia on Tuesday 10th November at a trade only event. Although this cigar was originally showcased earlier this year at Hunters & Frankau’s 225th Anniversary party on 19th June, it is only now that they have been released into the UK market.

The Bolivar Belgravia is named after the area where H&F held their 225th Anniversary party on 19th June this year. The brand was also the natural choice as a further commemoration to the Anniversary as in the eastern corner of Belgrave Square, the location where the actual celebrations were held, stands the only statue in the UK of Simon Bolivar, a Venezuelan military and political leader who played an instrumental role in liberating much of South America from Spanish rule. His portrait adorns every box and band of Bolivar cigars as the brand was named after him upon its birth in 1902.

Measuring 5¼ inches (130mm) by 55 ring gauge, the Belgravia shares its dimensions with the extremely popular R&J Wide Churchill (VdG Montesco) which is the only cigar of this size currently in the standard Habanos portfolio. Presented in SBN boxes of 10 with the papeleta positioned on the side of the box, the cigars are double banded with the second denoting the fact that it is a UK Regional Edition.

The cigars are now available to order.

London England October 15th. Le Hoyo de San Juan, from Hoyo de Monterrey, is now available in a tubed format, in small packs of three cigars.

Measuring 5 7/8” (150mm) x 54 ring gauge, it is also the widest Hoyo de Monterrey in current production and shares its dimensions with the Montecristo Open Eagle (known a Geniales within the factories of Cuba).

Although Hoyo de Monterrey is classified as a Light flavoured Habanos brand, the ‘Le Hoyo’ series is often considered as slightly fuller and slightly spicier.

The San Juan y Martínez tobacco district within Pinar del Rio not only provided the inspiration for this cigar’s name, but it is also the source of all the Seco and Ligero leaves within the blend.

Le Hoyo de San Juan: Hoyo de Monterrey Now Available in Boxes of 10

Le Hoyo de San Juan: Hoyo de Monterrey Now Available in Boxes of 10

London England August 18th. A historic line within a brand that's pure tradition in itself, like Hoyo de Monterrey, is now featuring the brand-new Le Hoyo de San Juan, a vitola that was one of the revelation of the 16th Habano Festival.

As of 2014, the Le Hoyo de San Juan is the biggest ring gauged Hoyo de Monterrey in current production. What's interesting about this release however, is that the Cigar would be part of the Le Hoyo series, that is dominated by thinner ring gauged Cigars.

The size of its factory vitola (Geniales, ring gauge 54 x 150 mm long), augurs quite a huge acclaim for Le Hoyo de San Juan among not only the brand's enthusiasts, but also lovers of thick ring-gauge and midsize cigars, not to mention for scores of people who prefer a consistent and well-balanced habano in the same breath.

Le Hoyo de San Juan is now available in the brand's classic sliding box (SLD), of 10 and 25 cigars.

What's more, these boxes add innovations in the brand's image. Firstly, the adhesive outer paper inlays for the 25- and 10- boxes. Also the wrapping ribbon that spruces up the 25-cigar bundle is now white, a token that would definitely help identify the new Hoyo de Monterrey vitola among the brand's enthusiasts.

Last but not least, Le Hoyo de San Juan will carry the new Le Hoyo Series band that tells this vitola apart, still featuring the traditional red color and the brand's image on the lower side.

PARTAGAS

PARTAGAS "MADURO No.1" RELEASED, AVAILABLE ONLY IN HAVANA CIGAR SPECIALISTS !

London, England, August 18th. Partagas Maduro No.1 is presented in SBN boxes of 25, measure 5 1/8" x 52 (VdG: Maduro No.1) and are dressed with a second identifying band.

Maduro describes a very dark shade of wrapper leaf. The leaves are harvested from the top of the shade grown tobacco plant and after air curing, natural fermentation and ageing, assume their rich, dark, oily appearance which adds a "top-taste" to the blend which many describe as sweet. Dedicating Maduro wrappers to a vitola is not a totally new concept for Habanos s.a. In 2007 they launched the Cohiba Maduro 5 range in three sizes. However, this is brand new for Partagas and the size is also not currently found in the brand's portfolio.

Available only in La Casa del Habano or a Havana Cigar Specialists.

REDISCOVER JOYA! REDISCOVER CIGARS

REDISCOVER JOYA! REDISCOVER CIGARS "JOYA RED"

London, England, July 1st, Mostly known for their more full-bodied cigars, Joya de Nicaragua set their sights on the medium-bodied market in 2014 and they hit it out of the park with the new Joya Red. Blended by the president of the company, Juan Ignacio Martinez, and longtime factory manager, Leonel Raudez, Joya Red is an exceptionally well made and great tasting cigar. The name comes from the reddish-brown hued Nicaraguan Habano wrapper leaf that drapes over the Nicaraguan binder and filler tobacco. As with many puros from this country, one would expect a full-bodied cigar, but the perfection in this blend puts it right in the middle at a medium.

MONTECRISTO MEDIAS CORONAS ARRIVE IN THE UK.

MONTECRISTO MEDIAS CORONAS ARRIVE IN THE UK.

London, England, June 24th, The new Montecristo Media Corona, launched at Hunters & Frankau's 225th anniversary party, is now on general release and available across the UK.

Media Corona literally translates as "Half Corona" and the size was first introduced in the UK back in 1907 by an English cigar importer who wanted to stop keeping his wife waiting for him at the theatre while he enjoyed the last of his Corona sized cigar.

However, from this one man's requirements the cigar quickly went on to become the most popular vitolas (sizes) in the market during the 1920s and 1930s. At one point it is estimated that the Half Corona, across various brands, accounted for one in every thirty Havana cigars sold in the UK. However, as tastes changed the format eventually faded from popularity until it was entirely discontinued.

That was until H. Upmann decided to revisit this long forgotten size and, giving it a slightly modern dusting down - it now bears a more modern, stout 44 ring gauge as opposed to the traditional 42 - relaunched it in 2011.

The Montecristo Medias Corona represents the second time that this format has been used and, at just 3 1/2 inches long, it remains the shortest long-filler handmade Cuban cigar you can buy.

The taste that has made Montecristo the world's most sought-after premium cigar is often described as "tangy". Certainly the flavour is distinctive.

Other words commonly used to describe the taste include 'coffee' and 'cocoa beans', 'pepper' as well as 'orange peel', 'cinnamon' and 'vanilla', all of which lead to the conclusion that a delicious bitter-sweet, spicy taste lies at the heart of Montecristo's success combined, of course, with the perfect balance of its tobacco blend.

Brand: Montecristo

Shop name: Media Corona

Factory name: Half Corona

Dimensions: 3 ½" (90mm) x 44 ring gauge

Presentation: boxes of 25 and small packages of 5.

RAMON LLONES HUNTERS & FRANKAU ANIVERSARIO 225 CIGAR & COMMEMORATIVE HUMIDOR.

RAMON LLONES HUNTERS & FRANKAU ANIVERSARIO 225 CIGAR & COMMEMORATIVE HUMIDOR.

London, England, May 20th, To mark Hunters & Frankau’s 225th Anniversary, we are offering a very special Havana cigar and a commemorative humidor. Just 50,000 of the cigars have been produced in numbered SLB boxes of 25. Both the cigars and the humidor have been created to reflect Hunters & Frankau’s company’s long history in the Havana cigar trade.

The Brand

Hunters & Frankau chose Ramon Allones for their celebratory cigar because of its particular association with the Hunters side of the company. In 1911 John Hunter, Morris & Elkan Ltd, as it was then known, bought the brand’s factory in Havana along with its worldwide trademark rights. They were privileged to own the brand for sixteen years until 1927 when they sold it to the Cuban owners of Partagas whilst retaining the rights to Ramon Allones in the United Kingdom.

The Vitola (5 1/2"/141mm x 50 ring gauge)

All the Hunters & Frankau Aniversario 225 cigars were made at the Partagas factory in Havana, the home of Ramon Allones since 1927.

Hunters & Frankau are grateful to the factory and Habanos S.A. for undertaking to produce a unique vitola for them based on the Gordito size, but with a “Cabeza Tumbada”, or “Dropped Head”, typical of the shapes that were made during their stewardship of the brand.

The Blending, Making and Ageing of the Cigars.

Master blender Arnaldo Vichot created the rich mixture of leaves for the cigars. Two different blends were submitted to a tasting panel in Havana back in November 2012 at which Jemma Freeman was also present. Once the final blend was chosen, production of all 50,000 cigars took place between February and May 2013 and was undertaken by just three top grade torcedores.

In the traditional British manner, the cigars were then shipped to the UK and aged for a period of two years in a condition-controlled warehouse so that they would be fully matured before being released to the market.

The Commemorative Humidor & 225 Anniversary Rum by Havana Club

In days gone by it was customary to buy Havanas in cedar cabinets containing anything from 100 to 10,000 cigars, or more. They were much in vogue between the 1880s and the 1940s. This type of presentation gave rise to the expression “Cabinet Selection”, which came not only to describe the Habanos of exceptional quality that were selected to fill them but also the Slide Lid Boxes in which they were shipped.

To commemorate Hunters & Frankau's Anniversary, they have commissioned two hundred and twenty-five, numbered replicas of this style of presentation each containing four boxes (100 cigars) of the Ramon Allones Hunters & Frankau Aniversario 225.

The cabinet, every one of which is personally signed by Jemma Freeman, is equipped with two Xikar Crystal humidifiers and comes with one hundred commemorative cigar spills. The lid at the top lifts up to reveal a humidified compartment for dispensing single cigars topped with a ceramic plaque on which the Ramon Allones insignia is emblazoned.

Each humidor is delivered with a complimentary 50cl bottle of very special rum prepared by Havana Club’s master blender Asbel Morales to marry with the taste of the cigar. Also called the Hunters & Frankau Aniversario 225, Hunters & Frankau thank Havana Club for supporting the celebrations by producing 500 numbered bottles of this precious spirit from selected vintage casks. None will be for sale, but if they were, the value would be some £300 per bottle.

The final selection of the rum to match the cigar took place in November 2014 when Jemma Freeman travelled to Havana with some of the Aniversario 225 cigars that had already benefitted from some eighteen months of ageing in England. Commenting on the pairing Morales said, “I’m defending my rum’s notes and the cigar is defending its notes. They should not mirror each other, nor contrast too much. It’s like a perfectly balanced marriage.”

Also present was Odelaine Paneque, the head taster at Partagas. It is a rare event for the catadores (tasters) at Havana’s factories to light up a cigar that they last smoked a year and a half before. She was very impressed with the way in which the cigar had retained its strong flavour and had gained a perfect balance between its aroma and its strength whilst losing its early aggressiveness.

The manufacture of the humidors

The humidors were manufactured by DeART S.r.l. situated in Calvenzano near Milan in northern Italy. Massimo de Munari, whose family owns the company, has built an enviable reputation over the last five years for making exceptional humidors, which he has supplied to many clubs, restaurants and private homes in Britain.

DeART’s skills in making fine furniture of the highest quality left them with no doubt that Massimo and his team were the right people to make the humidors. The project started in the summer of 2013 and since then has been through many phases of prototypes and design changes to reach the finished product. Manufacture commenced in January 2015 and the humidors were delivered at the end of March.

Jemma Freeman paid a visit to Italy during the production run and was able to witness the extraordinary care and attention to detail that went into the humidors; a fitting compliment to the quality of the cigars that they will contain.

RAMON ALLONES 'HUNTERS & FRANKAU ANIVERSARIO 225 CIGAR' - CABINET of 25

London, England, May 20th, Hunters & Frankau Ltd - the sole distributors of Cuban cigars in the United Kingdom - have commissioned a very special cigar to mark the occasion of their 225th Anniversary. THE RENAISSANCE OF DAVIDOFF WINSTON CHURCHILL RANGE

THE RENAISSANCE OF DAVIDOFF WINSTON CHURCHILL RANGE

London, England, April 15th, Sir Winston Churchill was an aristocrat, born into the family of the Dukes of Marlborough. He grew to develop a taste for the finer things in life. Amongst them, cigars. A line of exclusive cigars bearing the name of and befitting the world’s most iconic cigar aficionado. Sir Winston Churchill was relaunched by Davidoff Cigars, the manufacturer of premium cigars and accessories that have set standards for many years.

Davidoff Winston Churchill exclusive cigars are uniquely diverse as the man who inspired them. The Great Man’s persona, the trait of character, was the inspiration for the chosen formats. This exclusive cigar range from Davidoff is composed of a new characterful blend. It is crafted with tobaccos coming from four different countries: Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Mexico, and Ecuador.

We feel sure that Sir Winston would have enjoyed sharing one of these exceptional cigars which surely do justice to one of the most celebrated cigar lovers in history: The Aristocrat, The Artist, The Commander, The Raconteur, The Statesman, The Traveler "these are cigars of character," said Hans-Kristian Hoejsgaard, CEO of Oettinger Davidoff.

Strength of the blend is medium to full body with a wide palette of exciting flavours and aromas. The cigars are adorned with a shiny and oily wrapper with a slight reddish touch. Due to the different Seco tobaccos, the cigars deliver an excellent, even burn and a firm white ash.

The wooden cigar boxes have been crafted in an elegant white design showcasing the iconic silhouette of Sir Winston Churchill.

The Davidoff Winston Churchill cigar range includes: Winston Churchill Petit Corona (41 RG x 4 ½; the shortest cigar in the range), Robusto (52 RG x 5 ¼ ), Churchill (47 RG x 6 7/8 ), and Toro (54 RG x 6).

-Petit Corona ' Artist' (41 RG x 4 ½ )

The Winston Churchill Petit Corona is the shortest cigar in the range. Due to the smaller RG and the size, this cigar feels stronger and delivers less pronounced flavour nuances in the body. Beautiful pepper flavours together with dark coffee and toasty notes are dominating.

-Robusto 'Statesman' (52 RG x 5 ¼ )

The strength is slightly decreased and the flavors are more overt. The complexity of the cigar is more amplified and the flavours more pronounced. Leather with dark coffee flavours take a front role with a creamy aftertaste.

-Toro 'Commander' (54 RG x 6)

Carrying the largest ring gauge in the Winston Churchill range, it is a grand cigar, from the first spicy, leathery, woody notes through the creamy, sweet influences of the Mexican binder to the final triumphant mix of flavours, courtesy of the Nicaraguan filler tobaccos from Esteli and Condegas.

-Churchill 'Aristocrat' (47 RG x 6 7/8 )

In this majestic format, the aromas are more pronounced, the flavours are multiple and the nuances of the different tobaccos are more independent. The body of the cigar is

very present, and the mouthfeel smoke delivers beautiful flavours of chilli pepper and cedar wood in the beginning, leather and roasted flavours in the second third, and finishes off with creamy and nutty notes.

TRINIDAD LA VIGIA THE FIRST VITOLA INTO THE BRAND SINCE THE ROBUSTO T

TRINIDAD LA VIGIA THE FIRST VITOLA INTO THE BRAND SINCE THE ROBUSTO T

London, England, January 9th, The new Vigia vitola wants to take up the slack left by others coveted dearly by enthusiasts of the Trinidad brand, such as Robusto Extra and Robusto T -they were discontinued in 2012.

Both the names of the factory vitola (Torres) and the store vitola (Vigia) make us wonder about the city of Trinidad and the area next to the Valley of Mills in the southern coast of Cuba.

There, the overpowering Vigia towers built in the 17th and 19th centuries to watch over the sugarcane plantations, still dominate the croplands and make people dream of the beautiful cityscape and the surroundings.

The name of the Trinidad brand is a tribute to the village of the Holy Trinity, built in the 16th century and declared World Heritage by UNESCO, nestled on the southern coast of Cuba.

Trinidad Vigía, complete with their usual distinctive pigtails, are presented in the classic semi boîte nature (SBN) lacquered box of a dozen units. The thick ring gauge and short length guarantee the exclusive Trinidad taste, something the diehard buffs of this brand and size -it's been increasingly catching on in recent years- will appreciate.
